Stow’s woeful start to 2010 continued at Stow Park on Saturday when they were gubbed 7-2 by Duns. Stow took the lead when Marszalek found Steele in the box and the youngster fired his first goal for the club. The joy was short lived however when Burns took advantage of sloppy defensive play to score just a minute later. Burns doubled his tally when scored following a strong claim for offside which fell on deaf ears. Just before half time the dingers went 3-1 up through Chisholm.
Immediately after half time the writing was on the wall when Wood turned the ball into his own net following suicidal defending by the home side. In 67 minutes Simpson scored after he danced through several attempted tackles before chipping the ball into the far corner. Burns then added number 6. Simpson scored number 7 to complete the Duns scoring. Just on full time Jordan Steele added his and Stow’s second when he finished off a pass from the hard working Hewitson. Yet another worrying display from a Stow side who cannot complain about the result following such a poor team performance. |
