Stow travelled through to West Barns on Saturday seeking 3 points they returned without them. Stow as usual started well and it was no surprise when Hewitson headed them in front following a Marszalek free kick. 4 minutes later the visitors thought they had added a second only for the referee to disallow it for offside although with 8 or 9 bodies in the 6 yard box the referee must have had special eyesight to spot any infringement. West Barns equalised in the 28th minute when Stow failed to clear their lines. Just after half time Mabberlerly took off on a mazy run eluding several weak challenges before chipping the oncoming Anderson. 15 minutes later a hotly disputed free kick just outside the box on the left wing saw McIntyre head home to knock the stuffing out of the visitors. The referee then needed attention to an injury which obviously was affecting him keeping up with play however he was able to carry on in the same manner as he started. Just on full time McIntyre broke through to give a flattering edge to the scoreline. Stow were again left thinking about what might have been. |
