Stow travelled to Langholm for a tricky away tie in the South Cup. The visitors started well and Marszalek rattled the crossbar after 10 minutes. Soon after Hunter had a goal chalked off after the referee judged that the keeper had the ball in his possession when Hunter poked it into the net. Half time arrived with frustration beginning to build at the lack of a breakthrough but words of advice from the management team soon had the visitors back on track. Good work by Hewitson saw him square for Stewart to score. 3 minutes later Thomson's persistence paid off on the dge of the Langholm area and Hewitt was on hand to put away goal number 2. The Langholm discipline began to crack and it was no surprise when a Hunter cross was finished off by Hewitt to clinch the tie. Runciman then blasted a glorious chance sky high. Stow rang the changes with youngsters Runciman and Kerr replacing Hunter and Hewitson. Both youngsters showing some nice touches and determination. |
